oldest-coup_803164cTonight’s Top Topic: Would you choose your Mom or Dad to live with you? (If they needed someone to take care of them)
We first learned Morgan loves the show “King of Queens.”
The Edge crew wanted to remind everyone that this Sunday is Mother’s Day.
A recent survey found 7 out of 10 adult children (are they adult or children?) would choose their mother over their father to live with them if their elderly parents could not take care of themselves.
67% say if mom could not move in they would rather she live home with help than a nursing home. (They call nursing homes assisted living facilities now)
 80% of women choose mom
 65% of men choose mom
30% did not want mom at all because of fear she would disrupt their lives, not enough room, etc. (And they don’t think when they were kids they didn’t disrupt their parents lives!)
72% of women would take care of their dad if needed.
58% of men would take care of dad.
This survey according to zoomerang.com
Morgan said “This is such a depressing topic.”
(I took care of my father for nearly two years after my mother passed away. But I moved in with my father as he would not leave his home.  It was not because of physical limitations but for moral support and decision making that my mother used to take care of.  Was difficult taking care of my house here in North Carolina and being down there most of the time but will say would do it again.)
 Terry Dixon of
Senior Helpers of Charlotte was interviewed. He mentioned many may choose their mothers because they are more nurturing and spend more time with children. Fred made fun of Mr. Dixon who sounded too melow.
Morgan said “I would pick my mother too, because we have a really good relationship. And the relationship with my dad……Not so good.” (It is refreshing to have someone on tv be that honest isn’t it?)
Fred said he knows his mom would do stuff around the house. His dad “would do jack.” He would sit there, watch tv, ride his motorcycle (is it a Harley also?) drink some scotch and have over lady friends all the time. (we were not told whether this was a case of like father, like son.)

As Morgan reported earlier on Fox News @ Ten, Cami Zupa of Hickory works at Lowes Foods and was sent home from work. Cami wanted to wear a face mask while dealing with customers to protect against contracting (H1N1) swine flu. She thinks it is a case of discrimination. Lowes Foods told her she can return to work at any time without the mask. The question is, Should you be allowed to protect yourself while on the job? Harris Teeter and Bi Lo told Fox News Charlotte that they would allow the mask but recommend frequent hand-washing. (Listen carefully. The Center for Disease Control has stated the most important protection against the H1N1 Swine Flu is washing your hands. You can read it here on the CDC website. You may notice they have no mention of wearing a mask at all)
Fred said he understands the mask may generate paranoia (would you wonder whether the mask might be because the person was already infected with the virus?) but if not part of the dress code how could they stop them. (How would you feel if a cashier wore a mask?)
Cami is the only financial support for her mother and sister. Still, she has chosen to not work as she chose her fear of the swine flu over the income.
Fred said we forget about the 30,000 (its actually 36,000) who die each year from normal strains of the flu. And that Cami is handling money which is filthy. Morgan asked Lowes Foods about wearing gloves instead of a mask but was told they never had such a request so are not sure right now.

American Idol winner David Cook lost his brother Adam (think the show called him Brian) to a brain tumor. Adam was 37 was married with two children. David gave credit to his brother for supporting his efforts on American Idol. David asks that fans who wish to remember Adam donate to Race for Hope which works to fight against brain tumors.

Happy Anoop Day! What you say is Anoop day? Chapel Hill North Carolina has declared monday Anoop Day for Anoop Desai. The city gave the former American Idol contestant the key to the city. (heard it opens the girls’ locker room at UNC Chapel Hill)  The former UNC grad student reportedly will be leaving school to pursue a career in music. Morgan and Fred said “Stay in school.”

nadya

Click here for ful interview of Nadya explaining the Angelina & Stripper reports

Octomom is back in the news (did she ever leave?) and is being sued by Celebrity Ambulance chaser, Gloria Allred. The suit aledges Nadya Suleman is an unfit mother. The specifics of the suit are that the babies need a court appointed guardian and an independant  Theatrical Agent. (Not making that up!) Child welfare recently visited the Suleman home concerning bitemarks and a black eye on the four year old.
It was also reported on the Edge that Nadya is also suing three people who claim she worked as a stripper with the name Angelina. Nadya said she does not want to look like Angelina. As Fred said, Gloria Allred is always involved with high profile cases like Tara Connor, Britney Spears, so does she really care about the kids? (Maybe Gloria wants to be their theatrical agent?) You can watch the interview about the stripper alegations and see how crazy Nadya is
HERE.

Lingerie Football will not be in Charlotte. At least not until next year. Reports are the TWC Arena has a scheduling conflict with the Lingerie Football League and the Bojangles Coliseum is too old. Instead the Atlanta Steam will become the Philidelphia Passion.
Morgan asked which of the girls who’s been in the Lingerie Bowl has gone on to bigger things or sports related. Fred responded – “Maybe Porn!”

Real Women’s football is already in Charlotte. The Carolina Queens are on the road this week at Louiseville. They will be playing Chattanooga on May 23rd here in Charlotte. Get your tickets from The Carolina Queens website. (What about us fans of the Fox Newsedge all meeting at that game?)
Would you rather see the Lingerie football league or The Charlotte Queens? Answer at
FoxCharlotte.com (Can we answer Both?)

Morgan mentioned “the fan website”!!! But She never gave the web address! But I know there are quite a few of you reading this as I get statistics. Finding us through Google or from the Fox Charlotte website. Feel free to leave comments here or go to the discussion forum. Love to hear from you. This is really your site! I am just the caretaker. Fred asked if he gets mentioned and approved if we don’t talk against him. Guess I will have to watch myself….

A woman found a bag with $120,000 cash in it. The woman Letty Armendariz of El Paso Texas, found the bag next to an ATM machine. (Why do we say ATM machine when ATM stands for Automated Teller MACHINE?) She turned it into police but still may get to keep the cash. If no one claims it in 30 days it is hers. (And every friend and relative she thought she forgot about.) So far no one has come forward to claim it.

lfl1Tonight’s Top Topic: Would you support a lingerie football team in Charlotte?
From the people who gave you the Lingerie Bowl, this September will begin the season for the LFL,
Lingerie Football League. Woman playing full-contact football in lingerie. There will be twelve teams, seven players on the field which will be 50 yards long.  Half the field, half the clothes. The Atlanta Steam, one of the teams in the LFL could not locate a stadium in Georgia so they are now trying to move to the Charlotte area. So far nine teams have found stadiums. The Underground asked people what name it should be if they play in the Charlotte area. There was two people that had the perfect name. The Charlotte Pretty Pant-Hers. (I thought it was great) So far nobody from local governemnt has said they were contacted about a stadium location.
Local Pastor Joe Chambers was interviewed and is against the idea. That it is the devil’s work, he said. (Guess he does not get out much with Adult magazines from Playboy to “oohhhhboy!!!” magazines, local strip clubs, x-rated videos or even a trip to any local mall on the weekends, all makes this stuff tame)
Morgan called it “Not a family event.”   She said they are not athletes, especially since they are not wearing any padding. And the silicone. Fred said, “Silicone. All the padding they need!”

cemetary Great announcement for Chicago Sportsfans. You can spend eternity at Wrigley Field. Sort of. A Chicago man has built a final resting place at a cemetary with a 35 foot long and 14 feet high ivy covered wall like in centerfield. Called “Beyond the Vines” it is located on Chicago’s North side. Being added is a stained-glass window to look like the green scoreboard. Cost is about $5000. There will be authentic Wrigley box seats for mourners to sit on.
Morgan said her husband (Jeremy) would be thrilled.

veggiecar  The next story was about a racecar that was built out of vegetables and runs on chocolate and vegeatble oils. This was built at the reasearch center at the University of Warwick. The steering wheel is made from carrots. The seat from soybeans. At least if a driver gets hungry during a race he does not need to make a pit stop for food.

This disucssion seemed to shift back to Lingerie. The question was, does Danica Patrick wear lingerie when she is racing? MoFo said will Girls tell Daddy they want to be in the Lingerie bowl when they grow up. (Probably! Look how many try out for Playboy)  She said it is just another example that continues to degrade women. Fred said the women choose to do this and not against their will. So they asked are strippers athletes?  (Won’t repeat what was said next. Sorry. Hopefully you caught the show)

Next the Edge crew talked about that in the Dominican Republic they are outlawing the use of crazy and ambiguous baby names. Names being given to children there include: Mazda Altagracia, Toshiba Fidelina, Seno Jimenez (Breast Jimenez) and others. Part of the problem seems to be that you can not tell the sex of the child from the name. Morgan brought up that while she was in school, the teachers would say they were expecting a boy when they first called out her name. (Is there something in her past we do not know about?)

A brief story was given on Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin but Fred & Morgan stated they did not want to report on them anymore as it was not news. (I agree. there is more important news to report like the Lingerie bowl. Hey at least there is something to discuss and made very interesting on the Edge)lfl2

When the show came back from commercial, they played the Edge line (there were calls tonight!) and after they played a “noise” that came from Rebecca Clark before she gave the news. (hhhmmmm. What did that mean???) The Edge closed with the weather. Fred said it was perfect weather for Lingerie football. (Doesn’t anyone remember Lingerie Boxing a few years ago?)

Enjoy the weather even if you don’t play Lingerie football!
