In the continuing drama surrounding the Miss USA pageant and Miss California, all still is not settled. Shanna Moakler, who was the co-executive director of the California state pageant for Miss USA/Miss California, resigned from her position. Yesterday Pageantville was a quiet little town again after Donald Trump stated at yesterday’s press conference that the dissagreements between Carrie prejean and Miss California pageant officials was worked out after only a miscommunication. Ms. Moakler said today she “had a chance to think about what has taken place.” “I feel it is in my best interest to resign.” Moekler went on to say “I cannot with a clear conscience move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it, or the contracts I signed committing myself as a youth.”
Prejean later announced that she’ll be launching a campaign opposing gay marriage with the National Organization for Marriage. This after yesterday declaring she would fulfill her obligations as Miss California and not work for any other group. What a lying piece of work, I say.
Recently you heard on Fox Newsedge about the fight against erotic services ads on the craigslist website. Today Craigslists officials released that they will no longer accept ads for their erotic services category and existing ads will expire in seven days. It will create a new adult category for adult oriented ads that will have craigslist employees monitor. Ads in this new category will all be paid ads. These changes come a month after the murder of a woman in Boston that met through a craigslist eroritc ad. If you remember last Thursday on the Edge, South Carolina’s Attorney General had requested Craigslist take down ads related to prostitution or pornography or face prosecution. He gave them until May 15 to comply.
