Tonight Top Topic: Does President Obama deserve an honorary degree from Arizona State University?
President Obama is speaking today at Arizona State University’s (ASU) graduation ceremony. At most schools the commensment speaker goes home with a honorary degree. ASU officials have said Barack Obama has not accomplished enough to qualify.
 Since the 1940’s ASU has given out about 170 honorary degrees. They did give Kim Cambell, Canada’s first female prime minister who served only 142 days before being forced out of office. The President will also speak at Notre Dame where he will receive an honorary degree. This even though, there had been controversy surrounding Obama’s appearance there.
Oprah received an honorary degree from Duke; Dolly Parton one from the University of Tennessee both this week.
The Edge played a video from last night’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart showing three ASU college students being asked about Obama and the degree. The three students were able to show off their elementary education.
 Morgan mentioned Frederick Irish, former head coach of the ASU football team (Go Sun Devils!); Lillian Gilbreth engineer & industrial psychologist (She also was the real-life mother of 12 from the Cheaper by the Dozen books/movies)  and David Lincoln, professor of biological science, all received honorary degrees from ASU. (Senator John McCain is from Arizona. Does this have anything to do with it?)
(I need to add another name that is similar but less accomplished to Obama. Lawrence Douglas Wilder who was the first african-american governor of Virginia. )
 Morgan explained that not only is Obama President but a historical figure, first African-American President in this country (should add U.S. Senator, author of two best selling books, Editor-In-chief of the Harvard Law Review and lecturer at University of Chicago Law School.) She then reported that ASU is now back-peddling on this issue. She points out it is an honroary degree and not a real degree. It is relatively meaningless. Its a thank you for coming to speak at the school. The Edge crew then made fun of Doctor Dolly (Parton) who just received her Double D’s. With a honorary doctorate.

Danny Gokey was sent home on tonight’s American Idol. Morgan said might as well give first place to Adam Lambert.
The Edge crew mentioned Jordan Gross of the Carolina Panthers will appear on Fox Newsedge next week.

It was reported that a Michigan judge ordered deadbeat dads to watch the Maury Povitch show. The Judge sentanced dozens of men to watch the tv show for violations of overdue child support. Some were sent to jail if he considered them hopeless. (Next week’s news. Judge orders criminals to watch Charlotte’s Fox Newsedge.)

It was reported that smarter girls have better sex lives. Its the brainy girls that have more fun in bed. Better communication was the reason given. It is not IQ but EQ – Emotional Intelligence that counts.
Fred then said something that made no sense and left everyone apparently including the crew perplexed. He said “Intelligent women don’t ever get into bed with me, which means they’re sexually satisfied.” If anyone can explain this comment, please post a comment here!

A lingerie company called Triumph (this is the same company I think that last year came out with a solar powered bra) is manufacturing a bra for women who are single and have their biological clocks ticking. You set a target date and it counts down. The counter can only be stopped by using an engagement ring as a key. (I am waiting to hear about the panties they will be coming out with.)
